Hundreds, thousands, millions of parts come together to form a single whole, creating something incomparable in Portugal.
As slender as the most beautiful waist of a woman from the North, as pure as the honor of "Invicta," as spirited as the first rebellions against Moorish domination, as authentic as the entire life of the famous one-eyed Portuguese poet, and as multifaceted as the heteronyms of the great enigmatic man from Lisbon.
Portugal is only for those who can see themselves in her, for those people with whom she forms an unbreakable bond. She is unlike any other place on the planet, incomparable to anything else, and I thank God, the Creator, for this — Portugal is not for everyone.
And yes, Portugal is feminine.
"Ela" is a visual essay composed of memories, endless journeys, extraordinary people, monuments from a remarkable past, sweat and tears, and the ups and downs of the great Portuguese nation. It's a project crafted to commemorate Portugal's powerful history and its magnificent present. This collection features photographs and narratives created by Nikita Stupin over seven years of living in Portugal.
It's a gift, not only to the Portuguese people, allowing them to take pride in the magnificence of their homeland, but also to visitors, inviting them to pay their respects to the sacred land of Portugal.
